The IREM® Certified Sustainable Property (CSP) certification is an attainable, affordable, and meaningful recognition program for existing office properties, multifamily communities, and shopping centers. The certification allows property managers to gain recognition for properties not covered by other programs, extend sustainability across their portfolio, or start a sustainability initiative from scratch.

IREM certifies office properties, multifamily communities, and shopping centers – and relies on an advisory board made up of IREM member volunteers to run the program. This advisory board has named Angela Aeschliman, CPM®, CCIM, Senior Vice President of Property and Asset Management at The Missner Group, LLC, Des Plaines, IL, as Chair for 2018.

Aeschliman will be responsible for helping the Sustainability Advisory Board achieve the following 2018 goals:

  • Identify strategies for increasing IREM® Certified Sustainable Property (CSP) certifications

  • Review and advise on IREM® CSP applications, requirements, and submission processes.

  • Review and identify potential sustainability-related topics for knowledge products

Aeschliman has 25 years in the commercial real estate industry spanning residential, retail, office, LEED adaptive reuse and industrial management.  She is a Certified Property Manager (CPM), a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), a LEED Accredited Professional and a licensed real estate broker. She is active in numerous professional associations including IREM, CCIM, NAR, NICAR, and the USGBC. Aeschliman is the immediate Past President of the IREM Chicago Chapter #23, as well as a Past President of NICAR-, the Northern Illinois Association of Realtors and she currently resides in Naperville, Illinois.
